Catawba County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

Raleigh - A Catawba county resident was found guilty on two cases of failure to file and pay state income tax on Aug. 25 in Catawba County District Court.

Kevin D. Propst of 606 9th St. SW Apt. 11, Hickory, was sentenced to 45 days on each case. The jail time was suspended to 60 months supervised probation on each case. He was ordered to pay restitution of $53,034.60 and file all North Carolina tax returns on time.

The charges against Propst are the result of efforts by the N.C. Department of Revenue collections office in Hickory.
