Cleveland County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

Raleigh - A Cleveland county resident was found guilty of failure to file and pay the state withholding tax on June 16 in Cleveland County District Court.
Lynn Burns Slycord of 422 El Bethel Road, Kings Mountain was sentenced to 45 days in jail. The jail time was suspended with 18 months supervised probation. Slycord, president of Katies Small Wonders LLC, was ordered to pay court costs, pay all money owed to the state and comply with all revenue laws in the future, including filing and paying all returns by the due date.
The charges against Slycord are the result of efforts by the N.C. Department of Revenue collections office in Hickory.
