Wake County Businessman Guilty of State Tax Charges

Raleigh - A Wake county resident pleaded guilty Oct. 13 in Wake County District Court to two counts of failure to file the state withholding tax.
Paul Stafford of 2205 Saltree Place, Raleigh, was sentenced to two 45 day jail sentences. The jail time was suspended to 24 months unsupervised probation. He was ordered to pay $1200 in fines and court costs. Stafford is president of Ideas Architecture Inc. formerly located at 1511 Sunday Drive, Raleigh. The business was closed on March 31, 2009.
The charges against Stafford are the result of efforts by the N.C. Department of Revenue collections office in Raleigh.
