NCDOR changes banks for processing ACH credit payments
The North Carolina Department of Revenue will change banks from Wells Fargo to Bank of America for processing Automated Clearinghouse (ACH) credit payments. Businesses and individuals that pay their taxes by ACH credit will have to change the bank account number and bank transit number for their payments.
The new bank account information is active effective July 18. The old bank account information will remain active for payments until Sept. 5. After that, taxpayers who have not made the change may not be able to make their tax payments on time.
Taxpayers affected by this change will receive notification letters from NCDOR with additional details about the transition. Businesses and individuals can also call a special toll-free number if they have questions: 1-877-252-4980. The line is staffed with DOR employees who are trained to help taxpayers through the change.
